Our boxes take time for us to curate, wrap, package, and ship out; we operate on a first-paid-first-out basis. Due to our unique curated process, it takes us 10 - 14 business days to get a box dropped off to a shipping partner, as we are only a small dedicated team at this time. Then getting the box to you through USPS or UPS will take some time depending on how far the box is being shipped from Michigan.
Yes we offer rush preparation and ship out for an additional $100 rush shipping fee. Otherwise, our boxes take 10 - 14 business days for fulfillment and can typically take up to another week, depending on the USPS/UPS delivery time.
We create the vibe/theme of the box by using your responses to our detailed questionnaire on our website.
An example would be to order a box that takes a couple back to when they were young and first dating/married. So you would input something like this "about to be our 50th anniversary. Married in 1976 and would love a box to take us back to then. Our wedding colors were green and gold and we decorated everything in butterfly's. My wife loved making new cassarole recipes and still does. We love anything Disney." If you pick media, you can then select what devices you want media from. So we can include CDs, books, DVDs, VHS, Records...your choice to take you back in time as well. Along with the other selectable interests and the text description you give us we take all the details including age range and try to find items that best fits your filled out questionaire.
Another example would be "she loves vintage christmas between 1960s and 1980s. Her favorite colors are red and blue and she collects anything snowman" The things you tell us become the vibe of your box. I take the print out and walk around our 7000 square foot store picking out items that will help you connect with the types of nostalgia you are seeking from the items we include in our boxes.
We have three tiers of Curated Mystery Boxes. Each contain 20-30 hand selected items from within Lands of Nostalgia or discovered during our weekly sourcing trips. The main difference between the tiers is that the more you spend, the rarer of items we can include. We also have a Less is More option for those wishing to request fewer items of higher value.
No we do not currently have the capabilities to ship out of the USA and will deny any orders from outside the USA. Unfortunately, with all our items being wrapped there would be no way for border package inspections to take place without ruining your mystery box experience!
